Lori Takawira – Early Childhood Special Education Coordinator
Hello! I am Lori Takawira and I am excited to be on the Bear Paw Co-op team as the Early Childhood Special Education Coordinator. I am originally from Montana and was born in Havre. I am blessed to call Montana and Pennsylvania home. My husband and I moved to Havre about 2 years ago from Tulsa, OK to minister at Community Alliance Church, where I am one of the Youth Leaders.
This is my sixteenth year as an educator. I started as a Special Education Teacher serving students under the category of Emotional Disturbance and Behavioral Disorders in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I then transitioned to being a district Instructional Coach. My most recent experience is with school transformation across the nation with Johns Hopkins University.
My husband and I have two children, Tyrone and Kaius. Tyrone is a senior in college at Ashesi University in Ghana, Africa, but is currently doing distance learning at home in Zimbabwe, Africa. Kaius just turned 4 years young and is full of adventure, curiosity, and determination. He absolutely loves school, which makes this educator mama’s heart happy. 😊
In my “free” time, I enjoy spending time with my sweet family, missions and community outreach, traveling, and running.
I am looking forward to having a fruitful and blessed partnership with all of you! 😊
